Hi all, I'm in the process of purchasing a 1977 Marine Trader DC. Does anyone know of an insurance company I can deal with? I am in Lake Ontario Canada.

Do you own a home or vehicle? Are they insured? If so, contact your insurance agent and ask if they will insure your boat as well.

I would look into Dolphin Insurance. They are located in Vancouver although their website indicates they provide coverage on the Great Lakes. (That may mean though that they only provide coverage for local boats that travel to the Great Lakes.)

In any event we've used them for a few years, had one claim (towing) that they handled very quickly and helpfully with no fuss, no bother. They are great to deal with.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. We had some minor issues with the boat that my current insurance did not like. For now, I just want to get her home.

Just noticed you were in Canada. Sorry. Good luck with the new vessel.
