I am looking at a 2001 30 Pilot. This boat has the swim platform and the access door on the transom. It does not have the newer v berth configuration.

My question: Is this a model 2 with the newer under water configuration?

I believe that when Mainship went to the flip up forward berth, they also revised the underbody and rolled these changes out in the 2002 model and called it a Pilot II. So I am guessing that the boat you are looking at does not have the new underbody.

But sometimes manufacturers roll out changes on the fly, so you never know.

Does this boat have the Yanmar 4LH 4 cylinder or the 6LP 6 cylinder engine? The former would be another indication of the old underbody.

I believe it was the 2003 model year that started the flip out queen berth, 5 blade prop and tunnel drive.

regards Holty

It has the 210 HP Cummins in it. I will ask the owner for pics of the boat out of the water.

Carl I have a 2003 pilot II with the flip out queen. If you open the lazarette in the deck as you come thru the transom door, you can see the tunnel in the hull for the newer underwater gear. I think holty is correct.

2003 model year changed to Pilot II Flip out berth. I think the hull configuration and prop changed that year also.
