Her “initial” splash and trim adjustment in the slips will give me a water line. I’ll haul her back out, paint the antifoul then have the “official” splash

The boat carpet arrived so I took the templates I made earlier on in the week and took them to Chapman’s Carpet Binding. They did an absolutely stunning job. Their service was second to none and the quality of the work speaks for themselves. Definitely look them up.

Yer doing the right thing there mate. Way to many get in a rush to put the boat in the water thinking they will finish her in the water. And yes, its a pain to climb a ladder to get in and out of the boat While in the yard. But hauling crap back and forth on a dock is no easy chore either.
Take your time, lord knows you have payed your dues. No need to rush it now.
Keep at it Buddy, you have done a fine job on her, and when she’s ready and your ready, dont forget the cheap bottle of bubbly to christen her, save the good stuff to drink, LOL!

I would discourage you from using carpet on the exterior part of the boat. It will trap water, never dry out, and over time destroy the gray non-slip coating you installed.

Yer it’s marine carpet. Designed for exterior marine applications and it’s being glued to the deck not the grey nonskid.

Glue mate. Straight to the deck. The kiwigrip is good. It’ll be going on the roof and the lower rubrails.

Alas, I think you will regret it when you discover it never dries out and your feet are always wet.
I suggest you just lay it out for the first month or so, before you glue it down.
