Hello trawlers

I’ve just recently bought my first trawler - a 1975 Grand Banks 36. Unfortunately I live in Denmark and therefore need to put her onshore for the winter. It’s my first time lifting her, and I don’t know the right place to lift. Can anybody help me with some measurements??

Regards Lasse

If your boat has a stainless steel or bronze rub rail, examine it carefully. Many GBs will have 3 or four screws with different heads than all the others holding the rub rail. Those screws are all in a row at the lift points.

Welcome aboard. Congrats on your new boat. The yard should know pretty close where the straps should go.

I have a, new to me, Island Gypsy 32 which I had to lift for the first time. I was told the rub strake may have a different screw head to identify the lifting point but could not find it. My decision was to locate the lifting straps on the major bulkheads and she lifted just fine.
I thought lifting on a strong point could not be wrong.
Just a thought from a newbie.
