Four from an overnight trip to Miskatla Inlet, north coast BC. A log during the afternoon beach walk, a Black Bear flipping rocks for snacks at dusk, and a couple of a Red Necked Grebe in the morning:

Bring the boat home to Florida from Connecticut
1. Spent a couple of nights in Aquebogue, LI, NY.
2. Anchored for the night in Atlantic City.
3. In a slip for some impending bad weather in Ocean city, trying to figure out what kind of boats are these. The bad weather never came.
4. Overnight in Chincoteague, super helpfull dock master.
5. There is a great pub in Belhaven with wonderful pizza.
6. Headed into the Chesapeake.20190522_194500.jpeg20190527_060238.jpeg20190528_153239.jpeg20190529_185923.jpeg20190602_061155.jpeg20190527_084856.jpeg

We have a lot of those strange looking Navy boats operating out of Stennis near where we live. Always cool to see them parked at the local waterfront hamburger joint with machine guns and grenade launchers mounted all over the place!

Not a bad place to end up :thumb:

Pssst...there's supposed to be a really nice beach on the west side of the Estevan Group, where the uncharted narrows cuts through. Talked to one old timer who said he knows it as "Paradise Beach". We have dreams of anchoring in there one day and walking through to the beach at low tide as the narrows dries.

Black bear photo is cool!

Is that Murray Anchorage? It would be nice to tip toe into some of these places, but it would have to be benign for me to try it.

Edit: I can see where it is now. It’s a bit of a walk over unknown terrain. Looks like a wolf beach. Careful with the dogs!

Nope. The beach is just north of Murray Anchorage (which we also have to visit, obviously) in Oswald Bay and the uncharted passage is between Dewdney and Barnard Islands, It looks to be a winter storm surge channel on its western end, or covered by water at only higher tides so has been deemed unnavigable and has never been charted.

Very mysterious...

Sounds like a rendezvous next summer! It could be an internet date gone wrong. [emoji23]

I'm in, but how about 2021? No summer holidays next year. Our daughter will be home from college & working and I'll be spreading my holidays out over the year because I'm retiring next fall. Then it's serious cruising time!!!!!

Very good. I’m hoping to investigate the west side of Vancouver Island next year. That’s my hope. We need to find someone to house sit including a dog. Jenny’s indicating she’s had enough of being a boat dog. She goes off her food after a few weeks. Perfectly fine at home. Not sure if she gets a queezy stomach or just aches and pains. She’s almost 14.

Sounds like a date :D

We’ll probably anchor in the last ‘basin’ for a month or so (depending on how inspired we are to keep photographing there) so you could drop in at your convenience.

Looking forward to your west coast Vancouver Island reports and photos.

The more pics you guys post of the BC coast, the more sure I am that I'll have to spend some time cruising there before I die. It's just stunning. Sylphide and I might just have to do the big U down through Panama and back up the other side.

No great photos to post but here are some videos that show both sides of the Columbia....

First, the calmer side

Now the rougher side

It's hard to believe those all were taken in roughly the same stretch of the river. I've posted these last four on here before but they're still kind of fun to watch, and short.

Might be shorter going the other way ???????

Oh wow... from the NY traffic buoy to Prince Rupert is just about 6,900 Miles in both directions! What a delightful little tidbit that is.

Wait... what was this thread about?:flowers:

Should be lots of photo ops that would different !!!
