Hi, first time poster, not sure if I am posting to the correct forum, but here we go...

I have a 1981 Present Trawler, a couple of weeks ago a guest lifted our hinged rail during docking and the brass pin that hinges the liftable part of the rail dropped into the water. The brass pin was pounded into the hinge for retention, but wear allowed it to fall out. Anyone have any ideas where I could source a replacement brass pin?

Any help appreciated!

Some hardware stores and craft/hobby shops carry brass round stock in about 12” long pieces in various diameters. Potentially easy fix.

We have stainless steel gate latches that have retractable pins to lock the gate. We have 3 gates and when we bought the boat 1 was missing the pin. We bought some 316 s/s rod stock and a friend drilled and tapped it for a screw in pin to open and close the latch. The friend has a machine shop at home and is pretty good at it.

Greetings,
Welcome aboard. Your first post is pin-worthy...

I took a couple of photos of the pin and knob my friend made for me. The knobs are beautiful since the PO just had a couple of screws in for knobs.
