That would definitely have me wishing for a fast windlass and then putting the throttles to the stops and hoping the water was calm enough to make a WOT escape run for a few minutes :eek:
 
Fast windlass?! Heck with that; I'm slipping the whole rig by backing as fast as possible toward sea!

Probably hot as far as it extended since pyroclastic flows can start out at up to 1000 degrees Celsius :eek:

I watched a documentary where a married couple of volcanologists were killed by a pyroclastic flow. They must have known they were goners for sure because the carbon leftovers of them were found seated side by side, facing the volcano.
 
You are definitely going to be wishing you had installed that 425 horsepower turbo Cat instead of that 50 horsepower yanmar.
