Manatee -Bulkhead between the Engine room and the Mid-ship equipment space

Hi:
Now I have a 2nd question; The bulkhead between the two below deck spaces - what is it made of and how thick is it? I have a water filter that I would like to mount on that surface, but I really don't want to put a hole in a fuel tank...
Ideally, I would like to mount the water filter system there. (The PO, just had a 10" filter laying in the equipment space bilge. (I replaced the entire filter and thought about mounting it, but then thought better of it until someone can give me some guidance. My basic thought would be to mount a "mounting board" to mount things like this (Including the Filter Wrench, and other tools needed in this space) with several short screws (The bulkhead is covered with 10x10 sound panels.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Next time I’m at the boat I’ll investigate & report. POs have attached numerous things to bulkhead using screws so it must be somewhat substantial but I’m not sure what’s behind the tiles.

Manatee engine room wall

On HEY JUDE the forward wall of engine space is ~ 3/4” thick. Composition is sound board over light wood framing. Directly ahead on this wall is the full tank. This was measured at bottom of wall over bilge. The sound board grabs screws firmly.

Same here, 3/4” total. I know of at least one who rebuilt his bulkheads but still found the majority of each quite solid.

Larry...did you notice I mounted the water sight tubes in twin channels. I routered two 3/4” hemispherical groves in a 1x3 & s finished with white epoxy. Lastly I’ll manufacture vented caps for tubes.

Water tanks sight glasses nice, that’s one project I need to do. But first I need to hinge those large engine room hatches.
Been side lined lighting hanging clothes and under galley counter top lockers with led strips.
Messing about in boats, it never ends.

Nicely done. I’m finally getting around to funding a camera/monitor system. I think your idea is something I’d love to copy....and since I’ll be monitoring my fuel filters and vacuum gauge in the same area, I think those sight tubes may be visible as well. Great mod!

A little 3M 5200 will hold quite a bit!
