She is of trawler design with a displacement hull and a ballasted keel running aft on centerline to a protected prop and rudder secured at the bottom by a supporting strap. The exterior was designed to provide a tug-like look with: a false stack on the cabin top (for storage); aft mini-sundeck; wheelhouse with inside helm; berth forward and down; saloon/galley aft and down with port side head; and aft cockpit. Her hull is solid, hand laid-up fiberglass with a fiberglass/balsa core composite deck. The hull interior is lined with Sintra plastic, and the cabin aft bulkhead was stiffened with Klegecell. She is not fast by todays standards, but will do a leisurely six knots all day at a very economical burn. Of the thirty (30) Outer Reefs produced, some have found their way to Canada and the Great Lakes. At 7,500 pounds and only 9 wide, she can be loaded on a trailer. *She has a 2 6 draft.

</td></tr><tr><td style="padding:2.4pt 0in 0in;">Tugs interior is a tasteful combination of teak veneer, molded fiberglass, fabric hull liner, and solid teak trim. All cushions have a thick, six-inch foam core covered in a rich designer fabric. There are large fixed windows in the wheelhouse and main saloon with two (2) large overhead opening hatches and three (3) opening ports. The cabin will sleep four (4) adults, and there is over six (6) feet of standing headroom.
V-Berth
The V-berth is forward and three (3) steps down from the wheelhouse. Looking to the forepeak, there is a teak hatch that allows access to the chain locker. The berths are over six-feet in length, and there is one (1) opening overhead hatch and two (2) opening ports.
Wheelhouse
The wheelhouse provides very good protection from all weather conditions. There are three (3) fixed windows directly forward with two (2) fixed side windows for excellent visibility. The helm is to starboard, and has: a large overhead opening hatch; teak wheel; engine gauges and controls (not installed); and electronics (not installed). To port and starboard of the helm are sliding teak doors which afford easy access to the deck, and when opened, provide excellent ventilation. Adjacent to the helm is room for a mates chair with a storage cabinet forward and lockers outboard port and starboard. Access to the engine room is through two (2) large hatches in the wheelhouse sole. There are fixed windows aft to port and starboard providing good visibility astern.
Main Saloon
The main saloon, galley and head are aft and two (2) steps down from the wheelhouse. Immediately to port is a private, stand-up head containing: a marine manual toilet with macerator and holding tank; stainless steel (SS) sink with cold pressure water; teak medicine cabinet with mirror; storage outboard; and one (1) opening port. To starboard of the saloon is a convertible L-shaped settee with: a removable table; storage outboard and below; 120V GFI outlet; 12V fan; and a small workstation forward with teak storage racks. The main saloon/galley area has large fixed windows port and starboard with fixed windows aft for excellent ambient lighting.
