Got the new windlass motor installed...yay!

Welp....after all of that and getting the new chain and anchor in with no problem we took the boat out to test it.
The windlass doesn’t like the chain with the weight of the anchor. It went in just fine but deploying it, it kept getting stuck. All the specs we read said the 3/8 G4 should work (we originally had BBB) but it’s a tad too big.
David got aggravated and just went online and ordered 200ft of new 3/8th’s BBB.
Anybody wanna buy 240ft or 3/8ths G4?
Sigh.

I usually take the wildcat to the chain store and run 10' of the selected chain through it to make sure there is no binding.
Most wildcats are designed to work with a specific brand chain and size.

Unfortunately it doesn’t take much of a difference to mess up the windlass. Sorry to hear that you had to buy new chain. Did you look at changing the wildcat to fit the chain you had?

We did originally..
But after everything this was a purely emotional (out of frustration) buy. We want to take a trip....we’re supposed to leave Memorial Day weekend and leave the boat somewhere east for a month or more...obviously we still haven’t left the dock. We are running out of time. Now we are down to a a 10-12 day trip.
It is what it is!
