We have been making new solid surface countertops for our galley. The old countertops were high pressure laminate and had seen better days. We ordered a slab of solid surface material from solidsurface.com, no affiliation, and got started. We replaced the old faucet with a new single lever one. My wife really liked the old sink because it is large and very deep so I polished it and it came out looking almost new. Unfortunately the sink was glued in with 5200 so I had to cut out around it with a jigsaw. The first photo is with the sink cutout. The second is templating for the solid surface. The third photo is the sink with the left half polished and the forth photo is the whole sink polished. The fifth photo is the solid surface installed with the sink cutout marked. The last two photos are the almost finished project with the new backsplash installed. Still have a couple of details to finish and reinstall the stove. Overall we love the new look. Fairly easy project that we did in about a week, which is pretty quick for us...
