Like all Mainships and almost all boats built today, the Pilot 34 was built with balsa core in the decks and probably superstructure, but solid glass below the water line.
Newish (2000+) Mainships have very little laminate or core issues. The main area of concern is the rail stanchions which when they get knocked about often develop a leak at the base which can invade the core, but this is true of any boat.
