The gypsy and drum might benefit from a coat of the same...$150 is 50+ gallons of fuel.

Powder coating is an awesome coating, hard but brittle. Under abrasion it will last forever, but very easy to chip. The layer will delaminate and blister at the base metal surface.
In your case, I would recommend a fresh coat of paint and it will need touch up every year but it is cheap and can be reapplied as needed.

Good call.
Where I used to work we had an epoxy powder coat line. Since I could, I had some swim platform ladder brackets done. (they were on top of the platform)
They didn't stay nice for very long.

What color? Or colors? I suspect you’re look’in for the look .. beyond just general maint. If so powdercoat. You can touch up w some other tough coating. I think the anchor will do much better than the gypsy. I don’t think you had the “winch housing” listed.
What I’d do if it was my boat is PC the anchor, winch drum, and housing but hot galvanize the gypsy.
I see that’s not a Danforth. What bottoms do you have there? Sand? I wouldn’t spend the money on it unless it’s performance was very good. I suspect it is as I think you’ve had that Dan type for some time.
One last question ... do you use the winch w chain on the winchdrum?

Eric we have sandy mud here. The anchor works pretty darn good for this. I don't put the chain on the drum, just the 3/4" line. As far as color goes I was thinking black on everything and leaving the windlass housing white.,but open for suggestions. I'm not planning on removing the windlass ,the paint on it is in decent shape.

Suggestion? Yes. I saw a boat at a wood boat show that had an old Dreadnought anchor and it was powdercoated a fairly light greenish grey. It blended in w the boat and most people probably didn’t even notice it. Of course I did.
3/4” line? I thought I was overkill w 5/8ths”. Your boat’s a bit heavier than mine though.
Found the pic of the grey/green anchor.
