Soon I'll be on my way from San Diego to Vancouver. Which marines in San Francisco do you like the most? Which ports or marines on west cost are "must stop over places". It's been a few year since trawling this way.

Santa Barbara is a great stop. My brother lives in Alemeda so I end up at the Yacht club over there so can’t help you with SF.

Places that I don’t mind spending a day.

Morrow Bay
Monterey
Crescent City
Brookings
Banden
Newport
Garibaldi
West Port

I’ve skipped the LA area as you will probably go to Catalina.

Bodega Bay is a fine place to get fuel and a crab sandwich. There is a nice mini mart on top of the hill but after that there isn’t much there.

North of SF you can "Harbor Hop" to Puget Sound. Stopping every evening.

Send a PM to "Crusty" and he should be able to give you some good info.

Good luck and have fun.

I live in Sequim on the Olympic Peninsula and the John Wayne Marina on Sequim Bay is charming. I'm shopping around for a live aboard & that is going to be my home marina, second choice is Port Ludlow. But the Poulsbo marina is right downtown, https://www.portofpoulsbo.com/poulsbo-marina/ lots of restaurants, a killer bakery, Sluys Poulsbo Bakery
