Called a solenoid, but technically better called a relay. Solenoid operated switch. If connected to starter it is to avoid having large amp draw leads going to helm and back to pull in starter bendix. Just an amp or so fires the relay, then it energizes the starter bendix.

Looks like a standard 4 terminal solenoid. The four terminal units are often continuous duty rated. Cole-Hersee is a good brand. If you source it outside of your powerplant manufacturer/marinizer, you'll want to verify the wiring before you get a replacement to make sure it matches up. This can be done with a multi-meter.

If the problem is engine will not start, you can jump across the two big terminals. That should fire starter.
Are you getting volts across the little terminals when commanding a start? Those relays are pretty reliable and the problem might be elsewhere.

I replaced a similar relay on my Westerbeke generator. I bought one for a older Ford for way cheaper than any from a Westerbeke or marine parts source. Ski is absolutely correct in that the problem maybe somewhere else, isolate the culprit.
