Our KK42 has developed an interesting problem with the anchor light. It will run for a few hours then start to flicker and eventually die all together. The curious thing is if it comes on as a part of the running lights breaker - it will run all night with no issues.

Does any KK42 owner know where the circuit junction occurs between the anchor light breaker and the running lights breaker? Obviously the wire run up the mast and the light is fine or it would fail in both conditions.

Your time is appreciated!

Check the connections at the base of the mast. They ran a harness from the panel in the pilot house to the mast base where there’s a connector. Check the wires on both sides of the connector. You could also have chafe at the mast base where the wires exist the mast. They aren’t well protected. I’ve rewired our mast and the harness was well done to the mast. The mast lighting is the lower bundle.

Thanks - the device is a 32pt Lopolight LED unit - full function of device (when working normally) using either the anchor light or the running light breaker. Larry - are you saying that both power lines from the above breakers rise to the flybridge for distribution to all of the nav lights?

I had an anchor light problem, and it turned out to be corrosion in the plug at the base of the mast. A shot of contact cleaner in the plug sorted it out.
