Trailer transport height; 53 POC?

Anybody know the minimum height of a 53 POC....keel to the bottom edge of the flybridge venturi (which would be removed along with the arch)? I'm looking at the tradeoffs between taking one from Florida to the Great Lakes on a semi, versus moving it on its own bottom....time, fuel, marinas, etc. The transport company needs (minimum possible) height to plot a route and come up with an estimate. I don’t have any specific knowledge of the height but I suspect that it will be well over the height to be trucked without removing the bridge completely. Also with the beam it will require a lead and chase vehicles. If it is possible at all it will be very pricey.

The transporter folks (M & B out of Menominee) said they moved one a long while back, but didn't think they could find the boat details. Yes, escort vehicle(s) would be a given. Apparently Michigan is among the worst states for restrictions. They'd offload in Ohio or Indiana, which ever worked out the best.

We bought our current boat in Virginia 3 years ago. Ran it home on the water to Michigan. We didn’t hurry and took 45 days. Had a great time. It was way cheaper than over the road. But we are retired and could take the time. Also we got to see a lot of places we never had before. I had a friend that had his boat trucked from California to Texas and they had to remove his bridge. He had many electrical problems and leaks that he never got all of them fixed but a hurricane took his boat so it didn’t matter anymore...

Depending on size, you are not only looking at likely two escort vehicles, but possibly a pole escort and a police escort. Another issue with oversize loads are also travel time limitations (maybe only daylight and weekdays).

All this, of course will depend on state restrictions, and possibly county and city ones as well.

Don't know which Great Lake you are on, but a third option might be to run the boat up to the Chesapeake Bay and then haul the rest?

We moved our OA from Austin to the Great Lakes...arch off...venturi, wet compass and and wheel removed. The flybridge was not removed. Height on the trailer was 15'4". I'm guesstimating from photos that the Defever is in the 20-21' range on the trailer (flybridge installed). But once the height gets above the interstate overpass number, they have to use Interstate exit/entrance ramps or secondary roads anyway. That was the case with our boat, as I refused to remove the flybridge. Never had an issue with the wiring splices up to the arch components. That said, I disconnected and pulled most of them out before removing the arch.

What's your estimate as to how quickly you could have done your trip just running hard every day with no sight seeing along the way?
