Hey y’all I really like the looks of the Pilot 30’s as a possible couples cruiser and charter platform. I’ve been trying to read up on the differences between the 2 and the main difference seems the newer version has a tunnel. Is there a big handling difference between them or anything else important to note? Thanks in advance from a novice that’s in the research phase.

2003 and newer will have a better cruise speed with reconfigured hull and 5 blade wheel. Fold out queen birth takes some getting used to but works for us. They also have the bow thruster and transom door as standard. Very happy with our 2003. 315hp Yanmar cruises 17 knt effortlessly burning 9GPH. Excellent day boat for family and friends and sleep over for two. Good luck with your search.

Definitely costs more money, but I love the layout of the Pilot 31.

I think this is among the best layouts I have seen in a boat this size.
