Mate I am the wrong guy to actually help you change it, but in th hope this helps a little (and as I posted in another thread) once the seal is changed, make sure you ‘burp’ it using the Tides red plastic device they supply with new seals.

Once you do that, you will get 10 years of faultless use from these seals.

Hamish.

Can you c-clamp it tight until you get a solution?

That’s what I did with vice grips thanks it has me so baffled why screws won’t come out looks so easy on YouTube lol

Screws probably corroded in the holes. Probably need to replace the whole seal housing.

Lookin at a haulout. Shaft needs to come back and coupling needs to come off.

It appears to be time to renew .... Before hauling prepare your master list of out of water work, allocate a budget, and set a haul date. Good luck!

Thanks I called Tides Marine they evidently had this same problem because they have since changed the lip seal cover to Phillips head screw into threaded cover the one I have was Allen head bolt into threaded inserts that’s why they are just spinning bad design and since been fixed now I am screwed that’s though for the advice

Rob Casadaban (Casadaban Marine) is right there is Slidell. He has handled very difficult jobs for me in the past. Maybe he can fix without a haul out. Good Luck, Mel
