I really like this web resource. It makes planning easy for a big picture view of currents. Unfortunately, it is only available for US waters. Anyone know if there is a similar tool for BC? I guess I'm wondering if anyone has animated the Canadian Hydrographic Office Current Atlas.?

still nothing?

For BC we've used rhe Murray Tables for years. But, once north of Campbell River one needs to become familiar with tide and current relationships - I struggle a lot with this guesstimating. Moon phases screw me up.

I really like the book Local Knowledge by Kevin Monahan. It's great for figuring out how to time the various rapids.

Coastal Explorer.

Ports and passages, it doesn't get real granular but does the job for most of the waters of the IP
