CptnPete,

Unfortunately, I don't have much in terms of pictures. When I first bought the boat, I dove in and started working on it without giving it much thought. It was a known project bat, bought without a survey (not recommended!), so I don't even have those to show.

I got the marine-grade mahogany plywood from Frost Hardwood in San Diego, where I then lived (https://www.frosthardwood.com/).

The initial veneer I used came from Veneer Tech via Amazon:

But, I switched over to WoodWise, the version with the 3M PSA Peel and Stick Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA):

I've attached some "after" photos that were taken when I sold the boat.

-- If you look at the one above the bed, it is of the starboard side of the trunk cabin. You can see the grain of the replacement plywood is going the wrong way (left to right), it is a little darker with a tighter grain, and doesn't have the ribboning.

-- If you look at the picture showing the aft of the salon, the window above the steps down to the aft stateroom is the one where I replaced the lower half of the plywood, then hid it using veneer glued on with contact adhesive. You can see how the trim, which was removed prior to putting on the veneer, provided a natural way to hide the edges of the veneer.

-- It is hard to see, but the refrigerator enclosure is something that I built and used the veneer with 3M pressure-sensitive adhesive, which was way easier to work with than the contact cement. Also, the quarter-sawn provided a look more like the original ribboning.

-- Aft of the refrigerator on the port side of the house is where I sanded under the window to remove the stains.

-- I've also included a picture I have of the other side of the bulkhead that divides the stateroom, where I did the plywood replacement, from the head, with the original plywood. It highlights the difference between the plain-sawn and ribbon effect in the character of the original and new mahogany.

Sorry I don't have more.

-Greg
