Edith Iglauer, author of “Fishing with John” passed away at the age of 101. If you want to get a feel for the Central Coast of B.C., this book captures it like none other. It was written at a time when the fishing industry in B.C. was still viable. She covered the famous fishing strike of 1975. It really is a wonderful book.

We anchored up often right near her dock, which incidentally is right beside the Seattle Yacht Club docks. The dock, house and studio look just like the photos in the book.

My wife told me this AM as were beetling out of the house.

Both of us read her book, Fishing with John, many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a really good book capturing her and John Daly's life at the time.

He too was well thought of in the fishing community.

May she rest in peace! I hope she knows how how appreciated she is for her book. I loved it, it described a time and people I knew as a commercial fisherman near the same time. I was very impressed that I knew a handful of the people she described.
