Installed one of these this past weekend:

RF Dimmer Transmitter & Receiver Kit | Products | Lunasea Lighting

Both my wife and my daughter are vertically challenged and can't reach some of the overhead lights in the boat. Even though these are expensive I thought I would experiment with one for the light in the head, and possibly add more later. Easy installation, just cut the wires going to the light and install the receiver in-line. Now there is a light switch about 3' high that is easily reachable by everyone, with the added feature of making the light dimmable.

Interesting. Where did you get it and cost?

I have q similar device in my home pantry, necessary because a remodeling carpenter buried the light switch behind a new door. Works great.

Some overhead lights can have the switch changed to one that has a pull cord.

Old style , but works forever .

I could also process seal blubber to use in oil lamps.........

Until the chain breaks.

A follow up to this post. The first unit lasted until just after the warrantee was up. Sent it to the manufacturer they said it tested fine??
Purchased a second unit, it lasted about two weeks.
Both were used in the same fixture, so I will experiment with it in other locations on the boat, but so far I would not recommend.
