I'm researching replacing the Volvo MS4A transmissions currently attached to my 1987 Volvo TMD41A diesel engines with ZF45A transmissions.
I'd like to hear from those who have done this. Were there any difficult or unexpected installation issues? Were you happy with the final results?
One of my MS4As clunks multiple times before engaging reverse gear. Parts for these transmissions are scarce and incredibly expensive, and, I'd much rather have new warranted transmissions where all parts are still available.
