I know that Bouncie is a car OBDII port tracking unit but it can be used to deliver GPS location and speed via cellular radio for $8 per month. Up front cost is $70 on Amazon.com and service is $8 per month. That makes it one of the lowest cost tracking systems I've seen.

There is a way of having it only report GPS location and speed for non-OBDII port systems like a boat.

Might want to check with the manufacturer. I doubt it uses the OBD port for anything other than power, in which case all you need is an OBD socket and wire 12V to it.

They will run on a OBDII plug for power (which would be how you would use it on a boat or diesel truck) but will use the DBDII port for data and send event codes to your phone, on a car.
