My wife and I were in Rome last week and I spotted this vessel just below the Ponte Vitorrio Emanuele II bridge. I was struck by the resemblance to my last boat, a 44 ferro-cement trawler.

There's one in the woods here in Eastern PA, leaning up against a tree.....
 
How big is the tree? Good chance the boat was there first :)

You have a point..... there was an article in the local paper about this "nut" building a "concrete" boat in the local rag in the mid 70's.......

Depending on your planning you may find that 'less is more' and you don't need to toil at the salt mine as long as you think.
