Aside from the basic yachtworld, boattrader, and craigslist searches, and the databases that brokers use to list "normal" boats, how does one go about finding a non-traditional boat to convert?

On a whim I searched "shrimp boats for sale" and found this broker"
Shrimp Boats – East Coast Marine Ship Brokers

Are there more places like this to look at, or look for non-traditional live aboard sized yachts/trawlers?

National Fisherman & other commercial publications would be good sources. There's lots of "non-traditional" boats of all sizes for sale in those.

Florida Mariner has many lower cost boats that may be fixer upers, as well a well found vessels.

Brokers will not bother with low cost boats as they take lots of time for little reward.

Florida Mariner is free , and also on the web for free.
