The rub rail insert on my 1981, 34 foot Californian is tired and in need of replacement but I can not seem to identify it. It sets in a PVC base which is in good shape. *Has anyone in the forum have any experiance with these. *I have attached a picture of the insert and the base rubrail.

Currently looking for same thing for our 1984 34 LRC. I think our rail profile might be a bit different tho'. Jamestown Marine, Hamilton Marine, & Defender all sell rub rails. I think that most are made by Taco, which may have its own site. I don't have a profile piece for mine yet, as it is shrinkwrapped & listed under Spring project. Merry Christmas

Did you replace your rub rail yet? *If so, where did you find the material for the insert? *Thanks.

I would recommend Hamilton Marine. They have a great selection, some with inserts some without. The rail I chose used 5/8"line as an insert. The yellow line looks great with the green hull.

The hard PVC section of the rail is in good shape. I was looking for the softer rubber insert that has hardened and shrunk some. I have had no luck finding the insert at any of the places mentioned. with so many projects going on at once I have put this one on the back burner for now. Leon
