This weekend my Raymarine ST6002 seemed to lose it's mind while using my wireless remote...Thinking the Batteries needed replacing, I did to no avail. It seems the rudder position sensor was going wonky from the symptoms. Now I get NO rudder position information on the main display, though all other set-up parameters are working fine and accessible. Connections at the computer are clean and not corroded. I pulled the sensor and exercised the potentiometer a bit and got a reading on the main display, which disappeared again when rebooted. I suspect the sensor went bad. Unit is 15 yrs. old. Any one else experience a failure here?

Yes, mine failed. Costs about $100 for the part and a half hour or so of labor.

Got the resistance diagnostics on line and will check tomorrow. Yes, I do think it's gone bad. Easy swap out.
