Here is Troy the rescued dog on Moonstruck. He thinks that he is a rescue dog in his snazzy yellow jacket.

Bess, put up a picture of Tivo, and everyone else show your pooch. *There are some great dogs in this group. *It just seems that boats and dogs go together.

*Eric,

The dog in the very back on the left looks like a Cane Corso.* They are a bit high strung and should be given a wide berth.* Not all are that way but it is a bit of a problem in the breed.

Just be a bit extra*careful around it.

It could be a large headed Dobe with a bad ear crop in which case ignore the above.

What I want to know is how everyone deals with dog hair aboard.

*We have a built in Vac but for the most part it is a bigger PIA to get the hose out and use than the little 12V sweeper I have.*

SD, he's a rescue. *All I know is that he is a Pom. *I never would have picked one, but he is a great dog. *Looks like he is with us for the furation. *Most of my previous dogs have been bird dogs. *That is a pretty dog you have.

*I don't think it was said that SD and I do not clean up after our dogs. *It's hard for me to see how you came to that conclusion.

*Sorry I went back and reread what SD said and I had misunderstood the meaning of "No problem to clean up after leaves little peanuts." to mean there was no need to clean up.*

You think boat dogs have to be big. *They only have to think they are big. *Here is our "Banks" swabbing the deck. *Well, we would have had a picture, but we can't figure out how to add one. *Sorry.

*Gregg, just go down to the bottom of the post and check the attach image box. *A selection box will appear. *Click on "Browse" to browse your My Pictures folder. *Select the .jpeg file that you want, and clck on "upload file".

As Eric (Nomadilly) pointed out to me, you can erase your old "edit" lines at the bottom when you update a message.

Let's see that pup!

This was our Maggie, a Golden Retriever.* She loved the water and our Sea Ray, but never boarded the trawler.* Without a transom door, she was too old to board and, weighing 90 lbs, I was too old to hoist her on and off several times a day.*

Love seeing all your boat dogs.* PLEASE don't start a boat cat thread.* It's just not the same!* ;-)

I believe Belgian barge dogs are scipperkes...Hollywood?
There used to be a Scipperke breeder in Annapolis who would only sell these dogs to cruising boat people. Some amazing stories of them being found hundreds of miles from land after being swept overboard.
A schipperkes job was to guard the cargo and wake the owners of the barges in the canals of europe. They only come in one flavor,Black.

*Dude, he is neither. *We were on the boat near Englewood, Florida when Troy adopted us. *I know very little about the breeds of small dogs. *They told us he was a Pomerananean. *You started me doing some research. *It really didn't matter what breed he was, but it seems he is a Spitz Klein or German Spitz. *Whatever, he is just a great little guy.
