I thought the buyers of #1 were happy with their boat?

I predict banks lending huge sums of money on new, expensive boats will be surprised during the next downturn when they realize their collateral is worth maybe half the amount of the loan they just made.

Just a guess.

Just MY opinion, way too much white inside the boat. Dress it up with teak paneling. I have not actually seen the boat. I do know, if my AT had as much white paneling I would not have bought the AT. Again, just my opinion.

I do wish the company great success with the TT35.
 
Kind of a awkward way to enter from starboard.

Seems like the TT35 gained a little weight during the production process. The brokerage listing says the gross weight is 7000 tons.
 
So, hull #3, Serendipity has been delivered and is making its way north to Michigan...by trailer. Understand this is the first one with the higher freeboard in the cockpit. Should be some interesting times on Lake Michigan.
 
Man that thing looks big on the trailer! Don’t think I would want to trailer it very often.

The scary part is, some guy show up with little or no experience in hauling, in a brand new pickup truck, hook up and drive off.

It would be nice if the 'first delivery' was by the company at reasonable rate or perhaps free?
 
Serendipity is now in Michigan and is planning to leave on the Loop in the fall.

It’s too big for even an f350 dualy so why bother to even try to buy and maintain a tow vehicle? Keep it in the water for a few months cruising then travelift it onto the trailer and have a bonded trucking company tow it someplace else. Launch and repeat.

For the cost of any truck that could tow that big boy you could hire a lot of professional drivers to do it for you......

Sounds like a good plan.

Ideally, the owner would need only one tow, to the final destination.
Once in the water, no need for the trailer.

I have often thought about building a truckable trawler with a less than 10' beam (could be trucked without lead or follow vehicles). The idea is to be able to move the boat across the country or from FL to the Great Lakes for maybe $5K to $10K. Considering the cost of the towing vehicle, trailer, insurance, operating costs, etc., you could do a great of trucking before reaching the costs of having your own tow system.

10’ beam does not need an escort car, just “oversized load” signs. Also restricted from travel after sunset and before sunrise

In almost all cases you are dead on. I think it would be dangerous to attempt to tow it with a bumper pull. This rig would require a 5th wheel for a pickup and even then it might not be enough. Going new, $75k for the truck and another $10-$25k for the trailer, permits, insurance it does not take long to reach the point of diminishing returns.

Another thought is to get an older semi tractor with some life left in it, all day for $15k and make it your freeway RV and coastal cruiser...... might work. Could not be any harder than running an RV..Just do not let WAZE or some other navigation program take ya down narrow back roads or neighborhoods.
 
While I agree that most buyers of a TT35 will hire someone to move it, I don't understand the comments that an F350 dualy won't be able to tow it.


The TT35 has a listed weight of 6,500 lbs and I don't begin to believe that. More like 7,500 lbs and about 8,500 loaded with gear, fuel and minimal water. An aluminum trailer will weigh about 2,500 lbs, maybe 3,500 for steel. So the towing weight would be 11,000 to 12,000 lbs.


An F350 dualy will tow 12,500 to 19,000 lbs depending on model and engine. A single rear wheel F250 can tow up to 14,000 lbs. So it can be done and many people have F250s or similar for reasons other than towing their boat.

DJ, glad you cleared that up. Still, not being a bumper pull guy ( emotional maybe) I still like the idea of a 5th wheel trailer.

More in the range of 10,000 lbs based on a weigh station, boat only. add another 1,000 for fuel and other items.
 
Has anybody calculated how steep a boat ramp these could handle without some sort of temporary additional floatation at the aft end, and if some is needed, what the options are?
