My Eastbay has three hatches in the cockpit. There's a gas spring strut on each of them. They're labeled Bansbach E2E2-52-280-660-002 360N".

One is fine, one is dead and the other is about half-way gone.

Anyone have a supplier to recommend for them?

Or any autoparts store - just have to match the strut strength, and the end fittings. Same struts for hatch backs and SUV back doors.

Any idea how to break down the existing part number for the relevant info? I gather the 360 is the force amount.

I've been down the road of trying to match things up in an auto parts situation. Often ends up being more trouble than it's worth. Car places have less and less ability to reference anything by specs, only by make/model/year.

My goal is "just work" not squeeze the last possible nickel out of finding some random alternative that will be "close enough".

I would bet you could find one within spec at McMaster-Carr. Their website is very good showing all the specs like min/max lengths and weight ratings.
