I have a sitex sp80 and upper station has sp70 .. after about an half hour it shuts off .. sometimes even sooner .. I turn it back on and all is fine until about a half hour and then shuts off .. it is installed on a 36 albin 1983 thoughts ?? Suggestions on where to start looking ? Thanks
 
Sounds like it's getting hot or the supply wire size is too small and a thermal safety is shutting it off.
 
Does your FB have a dedicated battery?
 
We are on the Chesapeake and the auto pilot is constantly working to keep on course .. maybe it is getting hot and shutting off ????

Have you put your hand on the pump to see if it's hot? Possibilities could be rudder sensor, the need to replace the "brushes" on the pump, or the system board.
 
Auto Pilot

I had a similar problem with my SP-70 at one time. It turned out to be low voltage due to a loose connection.
