Hi,

I splashed yesterday and today spent some time getting systems in order today. All is well except the AC unit is not pumping, although it is on and working (spinning). I took off an outbound hose and poured water into the pump (over a gallon), and it is still not primed. The only thing I can think of is there maybe an air pocket between the strainer and the pump itself. It is a Dometic Marine Air System.

What is your spring routine for getting the AC working?

The generator started right up and was pumping well, as were the Yanmars.

Thanks,

Jim

On my A/C it primes easily because the pump is below the water line and the hose slopes continuously upward to it from the thruhull/strainer.

But some systems you have to crack the strainer lid to let any air pocket out and let a little water seep out and start the A/C which should pick up and pump.

I had an air pocket in the hose between the strainer and the AC pump.

Thanks for the suggestions.
