I've heard people say some extended life coolants can clog up cooling passages under certain conditions, even with reasonable flush cycles, which I wouldn't have expected to hear. In any case, any/all input is greatly appreciated.

The manual does not specify any particular type. There are enough reports of various incompatibilities with extended life AF and I think it encourages lack of maintenance, so I stay away from it. I use standard yellow bottle Prestone. 5 gallons per engine. Check concentration before and after layup. Drain, flush and replace every few years.
