Hey All,

We hopefully will be closing on our “new to us” Mainship 40 on April 6th and bringing her home to FL from MD. Does anyone have a good website I can download a packing list of must have items we will need for our 10 day trip?

All suggestions will greatly be appreciated! Looking forward to our new adventure!
 
What type of things - parts/spares, equipment, food and beverage?

See my posts on here re our prep for three months in the Exumas last year. You may get some ideas from that.

We found one of the most useful things when bring our boat home from Virginia was a pair of stabilized binoculars with a higher power than 7X50. It was especially helpful picking up the bouys and reading the numbers on the bouys. All the required safety equipment and good wearable PFDs for each crew member. We also used a folding dock cart to bring groceries back to the boat. Although we were underway longer than you are planning since it took us 45 days to get home. We also liked having good rain gear for walking during inclement weather. Don’t know of any formal listing, maybe someone else has one. Good luck with your new boat.

Thank you for sharing such a comprehensive list, we enjoyed your journey so far. We are in Merritt Island, FL so a lil south of you. Perhaps we will meet on the waterways.
 
I would suggest backup navigation . the first day on my boat all systems failed (3) and depth finder . and we came down the James river blind so to speak. if you use a laptop or phone have a way to charge it.
 
Get some sort of backup navigation app. I use Garmin BlueChart Mobile on my iPhone. Its pretty reasonable and can load Active Captain data for planning purposes. Also sign up for Active Captain.
I also carry Maptech Chartkit books (the Big Picture :D) for my cruising areas for planning. Not cheap and a few years out of date but easier to use than a pile of individual charts.

I looked for the price for bluechart mobile and the Garmin website shows it discontinued . I have MX Mariner but wanted something different for my wife's phone

I ditto all of the above - back up or redundant:
fuel filters
flash lights
VHF
GPS
signaling devices
drinking water and food
beverages
sense of humor and adventure

other items I would recommend:
Charts
Access to Active Captain
Access to Trawlerfourm.com (your virtual life line)
Ask for local information
Any references or documentation for your boat

Tools:
screw drivers
assorted wrenches and sockets, pliers etc...
pipe wrench
electrical tape
survival tape
multi meter
infrared thermometer
spot light for your head
fresh water hose (that is clean)
cleaning supplies to include micro fabric towels

Take pictures of everything, before, during and after. They will become useful in the near future.

That's enough for now.

You might try Plan2Nav. Uses C-Map vector charts...

And both MX Mariner and Plan2Nav integrate AC markers for off-line use...

Can't think of an actual list published anywhere, but generally you'll be close to relatively easy re-supply points along the way... so it's easy enough to get more groceries and so forth while en route.

A decent back-up nav app (or two or three), decent binocs, maybe some engine spares -- although only extra fuel filters are what comes to mind in your kind of case, for this kind of trip.

If you're leaving soon, wave as you pass. :)

I had a ground wire go out on me one time and I never could find it in the harness. I ended up running a new ground to my DC panel.
So I now carry a spool of electrical wire in my tool box.
 
fuel filters and practice bleeding the engines before you're off the dock.

or get a towing service. warning: I think it's a 30 day lead time before it becomes active.
