    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price

    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)
    • Don't forget to select: FOR SALE, WANTED or FREE in the Title block.
    All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
    For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. When your item has sold or the ad is no longer relevant: Please post a Reply to the ad that the item is SOLD or click "Report Post" on post 1 of the thread to ask a moderator to archive the ad.     Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or �feels� wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers �agents� and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

    Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

    Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).

    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.
    • Declines to allow viewing the item before proceeding with the transaction.

Hello Forum Members,

We posted a similar request in September and received a number of good leads, but the thread fizzled within a few weeks (not that many steel boats in the US). Since then we have searched, and searched, and been on board a few which are close to matching our wish list. We are aware of those currently for sale on this forum, and many other websites, but would like to make sure we uncover all potential boats.

Are there any forum members who are considering a sale in the next six months?

> Steel, FD, 40-50', single engine, good range, suitable for extended cruising, offshore capable.
> Good to very good condition and outfitting. No projects.
> Located in North America, Central America or the Caribbean.

We have experience with steel and cruising so this is not intending to launch discussions of designs, details, materials of construction, etc. Just looking for good boats.

There are several nice looking later model Diesel Ducks listed on Yachtworld that fit your size range.

I think this vessel has been posted before on this thread but definitely worth a re-post. Anyone know where the 3rd last aerial photo is?
 
I have had that boat on my screen at least fifty times. I like it and think it may be a disservice to the seller to list it as 58'. It is 48 LWL and should be easily crewed by a couple. I think this boat is easily worth that money but doubt he will get it. It has been for sale for several years and I have wanted to buy it the whole time. I am not short of boats at the current time, but if I was I would take a close look at this one. I would call it a 48 and think it belongs on this coast. Well found in my view though I could do without the FB.

A 58ft boat sells for more than a 48 ft boat. If you are transient and paying by the foot, dont be surprised if the dock master comes out with his tape measure.

My 2008 34ft built today is now considered a 36ft because they are adding in the 2ft swim platform.

A very good price for what you are offering but of course, there would be some haggling on the price. You know, "it's traditional."
I hope you sell quickly so I don't have to continually look at it, and continually think, "If only I had waited....."
Would be the perfect boat to bring back to the States on its bottom. Yes, it would be a long trip but, upon arrival, the new owners will "know" the boat.
If someone were looking for a steel hull trawler, it would be worth the flight over to look.
When was the last time the soundness of the hull was surveyed?
The only thing I would add is hydraulic stabilizers. Guess that makes me a wimp.
SELL it quickly!!! (mumble, mumble) SMILE

A few years ago we were cruising with a mid 40 foot Buehler design. I was very impressed with the speed and efficiency the vessel made through the water. IMHO, these vessels are a true passage maker in the finest sense.

We're considering selling MOJO. She's a Robert Beebe designed 49-10 passagemaker in steel. Design #112. Single Cummins 250hp swinging a 40x34 prop. Stabilized with paravane flopper stoppers. Currently lying in Virginia off the Potomac River. Asking price would be $200K. She's a little ship in ready to go condition, we cruise her to New England in the summers.
