So can anyone tell me about these boats? The Good, the Bad and the Ugly?

One that I'm looking at is the 50' with Cat 3208's.

Does anyone know what kind of fuel tanks these have?

By default and unless otherwise replaced, 30 year old Taiwanese Tubs have black iron tanks.

What year? My Taiwanese tub has stainless tanks and 3208T/As. Love our tub and the engines.

Welcome

Welcome

It's a 1989 model. The broker claims the tanks are steel, but I could tell they were stumbling when I posted that question. And to the unknowing steel=iron.

I've ran across some that didn't and as far as I could tell they weren't replacements.

If you have inspection holes it is easy to tell. Make sure you get a survey and ask your question. Get the tanks cleaned and fuel polished.

I've owned several boats, so I'm not a newby at this. ;)

This is my first time looking at some of the Taiwan boats. Before I go making long distance trips to look at them or get a surveyor a little basic information is good. If the tanks are iron it's a no-go item for me and no use in spending time and money.

I appreciate any heads up from owners and such. Thanks.
