Anybody know where to get replacements for the side air intake vents on outside of hull? I have seen the stainless on others in pictures but have not found any on internet with same dimensions?

The direct plastic replacements for my '78 MS1 were from DetMar or Detroit Marine. Readily available once you know who made them

Thank you for the reference . I checked there and they didn't have my size . My cut out is 4 x 23 and it has collector built in with 3 holes . I checked all over the thing for a makers mark but nothing . Still looking .

A ohoto of what you have now, broken or not, may help jog someones memory and come up with a suggestion..
Lots of different vents out there.

The 78 boats were different than all the subsequent builds in may respects including the vents.
If you cannot find replacements you may have no choice but to modify the system to accept something more available/modern.

Hello Jay,

For those that don't know, Jay used to own the fastest MS1 ever repowered.

Cooper, have you looked for a makers mark on the collector box?

:socool:

Found a set !Gets a little confusing so pay attention .lol 3 hours on internet finally found them Sea dog made a long stainless set I think 21 inches . Number 331280 They were too short for me , Then I found a salvage company ( Pacific Marine ) that bought a bunch of sea dog 331280 that were made too long . Same model number but 4 and a half inches longer . And they are the ones that will fit perfect . Thought I would post , if anybody was looking

Cooper,
Amazing timing. I just discovered I have the same problem after removing one damaged vent/collector unit. Thank you for sharing the information. I ordered two. Now, how to replace the collector box? Maybe even re-use the original if careful modification is possible. Let's keep each other posted.

I am just going to make mine out of( loueon ?) mahogany or door skins. Going to mock it up with hot glue then coat whole thing with epoxy .Basically just boxes to fit over complete vent then cut tube holes. Mine are very brittle and broken

Interesting. I was hoping to find collector boxes that fit, but three 4" inch holes for ducting could be a big challenge. Good luck. I'd love to see what you come up with.
