Not sure I get that.

With a displacement hull then, all thing being equal, you are maxed out at 1.34 times the square root of the waterline length in feet.

That is 9.75 knots for me. I could spend some more fuel bucks to push a big wave, sure.

But if my engines are sufficient to push my boat at 6.5 knots and give me 2 MPG, 7.5 and give me 1.6 or so, then I will go with that.

Everything else is just fluffy science!
