I understood that when I replied earlier.

What I think happens is during normal running the fuel injector system can accept a little air leaking in and keeps running. But when you shut down, the fuel system is still under a partial vacuum. That pulls in air if there is a leak in the system. That air forms a pocket that blocks the fuel injection pump when you try to start it the next morning.

When you change the fuel filter you probably bleed it so it can start again. Then you go through the whole cycle again on the next shutdown.

Will it restart immediately after shutdown? If so that seems to confirm my theory.
