venturi vacuum system

Hi to all,

My air conditioners drain into the bilge and I was wondering if it is feasible to hook up some sort of venturi vacuum to the a/c raw water outlets. Has anyone tried this? I would like to keep a little dryer bilge.

I believe this is what you want...
We used one on our previous boat and it was slick.
Pay attention to hose routing or it will gurgle!

I ran my a/c condensation line to a shower sump. No water in the bilge from a/c source ever.

I have seen Venturi pumps on tankers. Quite effective but I would venture a little tiresome to get right on a small scale basis.

Ditto on the shower sump approach. Because the water is relatively pure the pump lasts forever been running mine for years.

You can buy a simple venturi fitting for $10 or so. Haven't hooked it up yet though. Pass through seems a little small for the volume....
