Does anyone know what kind of boat this is?

We went on a drive today and saw this boat sitting in a yard. Interesting looking double ended with passive stabilizers on the hull. Needs a ton of work but an interesting boat. It has an aft cabin like an Albin and open wooden beam style roof for the helm and forward cabin. Single 4 clylinder Perkins. Paced out at about 30'. I have not seen this boat type before and wondered if is a Yar or something else. Any ideas?

Is it a Saga? It does not have the plank lines of the Saga on Yachtworld.

Looks a lot like that boat from Oz that had the Yanmar engine. The one that was hard to identify which end is the bow. Can't remember who it is but he's here on TF.
 
It reminds me of a U.K. built boat, is that an Oregon reg. number on the window?
 
I know which boat you're thinking of Eric because I immediately thought of it too. Problem is it had the reverse slanted pilot house windows and center cockpit.
 
If you see it again, I think the first couple of characters of the hull number are a manufacturer's code that could be looked up.
 
Almost looks like a U.K. Captains gig.
 
Looks a lot like a Finnsailer 29.
 
Kind of looks a really old (early?) Albin 26. But I think Jeff might be right with Finnsailer.
 
Can you find a HIN...you should be able to look up the mfg if you can find the HIN

We struck out.
It's a European boat though. Nobody in the USA would market something that efficient. The 4cyl Perkins engine is too big to realize that efficiency though. The small prop suggests far less power ??? Somebody could have taken out the original one or two cyl engine seeking more speed ???
Narrow soft chine hull probably rolls worse than any boat I've ever had. Steadying sail could largely fix that though.
Interesting mystery find Kieth but ???

Very much like the Finnish sailor, but it is not. The Finnish sailor does not have a wooden pilot house. A boat made in my hometown in Finland in due.

Thanks to everyone that replied. It will remain a mystery until,something surfaces about its origins. This was just an unusual find sitting on a trailer up above the Columbia River Forge. I had to stop and check it out.

Hmmm...there is a passing resemblance to a Constellation above the gunwales but the hull form is much different?

Notice the cabin aft of the cockpit. Classic Scandinavian/low countries design feature.
