In preperation for our new motor home , a 1956 Flxible VL 100 with new engine & tranny that CAN tow a heavy trailer,

We bit the bullet on a tiny trailer boat to visit the inland areas and lakes that are ONLY accessible with a trailer boat.

With self powered trailer brakes it will hook on quickly.

WE installed an additional reciever in the front , while converting to Power Steering , so the launch drill can be done with the boat in view , and the weight , and drive wheels well up on the launch ramp.

A 35 ft bus is not as handy as most small trucks.

Good question , this thing is 4000lbs and at 3000rpm runs over 25K.,,,,4000 is mid 30's.

Interesting if it burns 8GPH/3000rpm that would be near 3 mpg , about where our lobster boat is at 7K.

Heading down from CT to City Island for good NYC thin crust pizza is 80-90mi ,usually all day.

Will be interesting to see the change in cruising style and radius as we get used to the Green Flea.

Isn't this where willy starts to chime in about too much horsepower??

The boat we currently have has 700hp.. / 40' = 25mph.. we are trying to not look at the cost of fuel this summer.

We have changed our thoughts from NMPG to SPG.. smiles per gallon.. at least until we hit the fuel dock.

Have a great new adventure with the fizz boat... and where are the pics of the new bus??.. vintage buses have the coolest looks, have you seen Jay Leno's tricked out bus at Jay's Garage?? WOW!
