Typical fin system of mid 90's vintage on 65 footer. Worked fine on trip to yard a month ago, and now after sea trial surveyor says they don't work. I wasn't aboard during the sea trail, so not sure if that means no power to them or there was power but the needles didn't move on the two gauges ?

Now boat hauled back out and wondering how to test on the hard ? I suspect he just didn't know how to turn it all on....missed the circuit breaker or helm switch...but need to be sure.

How is the hydraulic pump powered?

If it's off the engine/s you'll have to wait till it's back in the water.

Otherwise you can power it up and make the fins move by messing with the gyro causing the fins to move back and forth.

Call NAIAD in Ft. Lauderdale and ask for Vic. He can walk you through it.

Thanks Bill. Any idea where the gyro part would be and/or what it looks like ?
