Last year we observed a 4788 towing a 50 something Hatt from near Cape Caution to Sointula, about 40 nm. Weather conditions were good and CG involved. Long story as to why tow necessary but two alert skippers and few if any alternatives.
We talked to the tower afterward and he was one smart boater. The towee spent many days on the only lift in that area that could do the necessary haul out and repairs. Things are different once you get out of the US and in far away places.
