Protective coatings for gelcoat topsides

our new trawler will be here soon and we are trying to figure out how to keep it looking new on the outside in the tropical sun. Waxing every six months seems like quite an expensive option (50 ft boat). Have been reading the ads for various hand applied coatings; claims like never needing to wax again, and dirt just rinses off, and better shine than wax. Depending on the product, maybe a polymer, or a ceramic, or "nano". Brands like System X, Glass-on, P3 etc.
Any of this stuff better than waxing? Our last boat was Awlgrip so no experience with bare gel coat.

Rejex, Zaino, ProPolish polymer sealants are fantastic product for this purpose. You do not want one of the so-called permanent solutions! However, I would advise consulting the boat manufacturer first.

I have had success with Rejex ,long lasting easy application.

new FG may need to finish curing, slovent drying and outgassing before coating with anything. Ask the maker.

I will check w/ KK about the curing. She came out of the mold six months ago so that may be long enough. Other write-ups about Rejex sound pretty favorable as well. Lots of advertising hype to wade through so real live user experience is very helpful. And I will stay away from anything suggesting "permanent".

, and as importantly, what they recommend for any further protection beyond what they've already done. Seems odd to me you'd have to do anything with a brand new boat.

I am sure it will be perfect on day one, but will try and stay ahead of the Florida sun

For smaller areas where abrasion and damage can occur, for areas that vary between one and 5 ft.² I have been applying this clear plastic material that is used on cars and airplanes.

And I am sure the mfr. will give you good advice for that.
