Thinking of wintering in Charleston SC - thoughts?

Low real estate tax in the Northeast? Are you kidding? My 800sq ft apartment (in a bad part of Boston... I'm surrounded by Section 8 [Welfare] housing) costs me $3,000 a year in real estate tax.

I edited my post,* I meant to say they (The South) doe's not*have the high real estate taxes we have in the Northeast.

NJ Is one of the top in Tax Burdens.
