OK, so I was doing some ER work today, and of course the floor and table are up. I had the folding table on the settee on top of the narrow floor section while I was working below. I checked to see that all was stable and went to work. Well, later after some back and forth, I was right on top of the engine when I heard something, looked up and wham!!, that table had slid off and came down right on the bridge of my schnause. You know how heavy that table is! So, I was bleeding from the outside cut but not inside so probably isn't broken but is sore and may end up with raccoon eyes, don't know yet. Problem for me is one of the hinges for the table broke, I found the chunks later. This is one of those goofy looking hinges that look to be made of pot metal and consist of several layers of flat pcs. that hinge on a pin or pins I guess. I didn't have my camera along to picture it, but I thought maybe one of you CHB guys might know if its even possible to replace that type of hinge or if something new must be fit. Thanks in advance for any info!! I can post a pic later if it helps.

Better post a pic. Sounds like 'Soss' hinges. Soss is a trade name but there are plenty of imitators. You can even get them in real metals and many sizes.

Yes, nearly identical to that, at least the same basic configuration. So there is hope! Thanks.

Here it is, before and after, LOL.:banghead: I see them on the Soss site but will have to look closer for some dimensions, all I was model numbers. This is just a hair under 1.75" long and a half inch wide, with 8 leaves and 1.25" between screw centers. If anyone knows the number post it please. Nice to know you can still buy these. Thanks again!

Not sure which model it is, so if anyone knows the model number please post it. It is about 1.75" long by .5" wide, and 1.25" between screw centers.

Didn't mean to post it twice, got an error message on the first try.

It appears to be the #203 hinge which comes in various metals and finishes, and has the 8 leaves.

Greetings,
Mr. 78. I make every attempt to post, what I feel are, appropriate GIFS. Obtuse on occasion, but appropriate.

Wow, if this is the sort of table that hit you, that poor nose must indeed hurt. I always tip mine right upside down and place it table down in the corner of the settee there if I want the whole floor up.

Likely to be a Taiwanese knock-off, since it does not say Soss. Hope they knocked 'em off carefully. My new, replacement Aqua Signal nav lights were all but identical to the Taiwanese knock-offs; even the screw holes lined up. Surprised at the saw marks on your table edge. The workmanship in our Fu Hwa is very good; I would have expected the same in your Chien Hwa. Actually, our table is missing but the base's mounting holes remain as well as the gnawed-looking holes for the stems to descend through the sole.

FF, I don't know how you manage to find those video clips; they're always a scream!

I got the new hinge sets today, yep, Sunday, and replaced the busted one. Funny thing is while I was doing this I realized that somewhere in the spares boxes that were left on board,,,I am pretty sure there is a couple sets of these hinges. I seem to remember wondering what the heck those things are for. I didn't go looking but pretty sure I already had some, but that's OK, I still have spares!
