Diesel Duck 44 for sale - $365,000. Out of the water at the time of writing, completing a major refit of the bridge deck. She needs nothing and will be ready to continue cruising in a couple of weeks time. Currently lying in Malta, so an ideal opportunity to spend a summer or maybe two in the Mediterranean before moving on. All Euro taxes paid and plenty of spares and extras on board.

A quick update.
The refit is just about done and she's back in the water today all polished and shiny.

Man I like that boat. Anyone want to cruise back from Malta?

Questions:

Is the electrical US compatible?

Would a buyer have to pay a big import duty coming into the US?

No problems with the electrics. For Mediterranean cruising I've changed the boat over to European standard 220VAC but all of the cabling diagrams are on my PC so it wouldn't be difficult to change back to 110VAC. The shore power isolation transformer is easily re-tapped as is the generator and the charger/inverter is 110V unit.

P.S. Malta's nice at this time of year.
 
It appears that there is plenty of interest but nobody is willing to sail/transport the 'old girl' to the US. Can anybody tell me what the cost of importation for sale, to the US would be? And how would that be reflected in the asking/selling price?
 
It would be about 30-40k by ship. You would save a lot if you brought her on her own bottom.
 
Oh to be in Malta :smitten: ( I'm Maltese) if I was in the market for a larger boat, it would be Destiny and I'd come there for sure. :dance:
 
With the Euro sinking against the dollar $1.1 to the euro this A.M. It couldn't be a better time to buy. :)

True statement. And I think as deck load it would be quite a bit less than 30-40K, especially if you bring it north to a high density port like Southampton, Antwerp or Rotterdam where there's a lot more last minute openings on a lot more boats coming this way.

That said, a Duck would make it here on it's own bottom with a drink with a little umbrella in it in your hand.

Malta is very interesting, with its castle walls and historic significance. Didn't enjoy their food, however, but then didn't try any of the American fast food there.

Only did it once when we were tired of eating Italian. (Went to Burger King. A long day's bus tour in Tuscany ended there, and we were too tired to search out another place to eat.)

While approaching Luxembourg from the east, the restaurant on the border was an American-style fast-food restaurant. Regardless, I enjoyed horse meat in a local, downtown restaurant.

Horse meat! Yes! I also ate that in Italy and thought it was good as well. Very red.

She is listed at Euros 320K which on the original post was $365K. At the current exchange rate of $1.1/Euro the price is now $352. So yo've just saved yourself $13K - Interested? You should be.
